C.B. Fisk Tour
Founded over fifty years ago, C.B. Fisk has designed and built mechanical action pipe organs. Charles Brenton Fisk, the founder of the company, revived traditional organ building, most notably a return to mechanical (or “tracker”) key action through his study of early American and European instruments. As part of this process, they alloy, cast, and form the metal in-house that will become the pipes using techniques that go back hundreds of years. They believe that their “instruments are most successful when they function acoustically and aesthetically as one with the building they live in.” To this end, they “build a precise scale model of each building to ensure that the organ compliments the architecture that surrounds it.” After design, the final step is “the painstaking voicing of the instrument, adjusting each pipe to the acoustics of the room.” Their organs can be found entertaining audiences around the world.
Please join us for a tour of this special company that not only prides itself in building beautiful and acoustically sensational instruments, but also in their collaborative and artful working culture they have developed over the decades. For more information, please visit www.cbfisk.com
