Up Next: Thursday, November 21th, 2024 ASM Boston host: Alexander Barbati of AM Batteries (AMB) Alexander Barbati is a Principal Scientist at AM Batteries (AMB). At AMB, he directs development efforts for next generation powder coating and manufacturing technologies. Prior to AMB (2016-2023) he was a Technical Fellow at Desktop Metal, where he developed additive manufacturing technologies across multiple product platforms and materials. Before entering industry, he worked as a postdoctoral associate in Gareth McKinley's Non-Newtonian Fluid Mechanics Group at MIT and earned PhD and MS degrees in the area of fluid mechanics and transport phenomena at Cornell while in Brian Kirby's Micro- and Nanofluidics group. In addition to his training as a scientist, he received a BS in mechanical engineering from UMass Amherst. He is passionate about cross-disciplined technology development and applied science.
