Course Description This MEI (Materials Engineering Institute) course focuses on the basic knowledge related to metallurgical work such as the required material characteristics evaluation in alloy selection for a design project, and part failure analysis. It will discuss the metallurgical, mechanical and physical properties and their inter-relationships. It covers the basic alloy strengthening mechanisms and effects of alloying elements. Case studies will be used to exemplify the applications of these principles. Attendees are encouraged to bring their own real-life cases to the class for discussion. |
Who will benefit from attending this course? Managers, engineers, designers, technicians, quality-control and sales personnel, and all individuals who wish to better understand the role of materials science.
